You will be instrumental in building the systems and culture of an exciting company that is filling a pretty serious void. We are looking to re-launch in early 2012. Skills & Expectations You have an excellent understanding of and significant experience with the CakePHP MVC framework, as you will be picking up where another developer left off. It’s a solid code base, so any experienced CakePHP developer should be able to integrate themselves and feel comfortable quickly. You have an ability to write efficient DB calls/queries that comes only with borderline obsession. Experience with payment gateways such as PayPal or Authorize.net Geolocation. You will be working with a designer but experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS, non-trivial JavaScript, jQuery is expected. You should be comfortable with Git workflow as we use GitHub for source control and hosting. Must be self-directed and confident. You stay on an even keel during severe course corrections while maintaining a sense of humor. Bonus Stuff These are not absolutely critical but would certainly move you up the candidate totem pole. Comfortable with deploying and maintaining scalable and secure staging and production systems in a Linux environment. We are young but will eventually adopt true agile development processes. Experience with high traffic websites, performance tuning, background job processing and systems scaling.
